Why can't I trace my biological parents in such a small country like Singapore??????

    Desperately Seeking!

I stumbled across this interesting Singapore site by accident and I thought I would give it a go.  As you probably gathered, I am trying to trace my natural parents. I seem to come against brick walls when it comes to finding out any sort of information.  I was adopted by British parents in 1969 at RAF Seletar and left for the UK in 1972 and have never ventured back to Singapore - yet!  I have all my adoption papers, names of parents (inc Singapore Identity Card Numbers) and hospital I was born in, but no recent address for my biological family.  I have contacted the British & Singapore Embassy's but no one will divulge any information due to data protection.  I have even tried asking them to forward letters onto their address but they declined.

Please could anyone contact me if you have any ideas (that I haven't already tried).

    Much appreciated!

    Liz

u can probably tried the immigration dept  (http://www.ica.gov.sg/index.aspx) that is in charge of giving out NRICs and checking at the hospital where u are born.

The last stop it could be the police station - u can ask them to find a missing person - eg your parents.

or u can try placing an advertisement on online websites or looking up the hard copy of yellowpages (residential listing) for that person name....lots of choices in a digital world.
