Thread starter should have the following details at hand before announcing a practical intention:
  1. Find a topical forum relevant to the nature of the activity.
  2. Descriptive title prefixed with "Practical: ".
  3. The technical goal, the subject matter to work on.
  4. Broken down objectives to meet that goal.
  5. Preliminary assessment of hardware/software required to carry out activity.
Subsequently, wait for interested individuals:
  1. Agree on venue, and date/time.
  2. Agree on the delegated responsibilities of each person, inline with the goal and objectives.
  3. Do not pressure into commitment, or keep delaying others either. If one is busy, s/he should skip and attend the next round.
  4. Do not pressure into productive results. The thing to note is to learn not just the technical stuff, but about each other too.
On actual activity:
  1. Take note, document the happenings; what went right, what went wrong, all problems and all successes.
  2. Report the technical items in a new thread in the relevant forum. Let others witness what was done/achieved, and comment for more ideas.
  3. If activity is not resolved/completed, return to original thread and conduct next round of meeting to pick up where the last session dropped.

The melody of logic will always play out the truth. ~ Narumi Ayumu, Spiral
