How can i get Tortoise to ignore the bin/obj directories? That "Add to Ignore list" menu item does not appear even when I check it to appear on main menu.

You need to have the parent folder of the bin\obj folder inside subversion before you can have the add to ignore list appear. So when the first time u check in, don't check the bin \ obj first. After that, you can add those to the ignore list.

I don't really understand what you mean by parent folder "inside" Subversion. I check out stuff to
D:\development\projects\SG.NET\ where each Subversion repository will structured under
D:\development\projects\SG.NET\Forums
D:\development\projects\SG.NET\Nova

D:\development\projects\SG.NET\Forums\Web\bin
is under source control, but the other projects
D:\development\projects\SG.NET\Forums\Controls\bin
D:\development\projects\SG.NET\Forums\Components\bin
D:\development\projects\SG.NET\Forums\Data Providers\SqlDataProvider\bin
are not, and those have the Add to Ignore list option, which is actually redundant since they are already ignored, and I want to add ignores for others?

Example D:\development\projects\SG.NET\Forums\Web\bin

ADD: Kit-chan has clarified on the definition and purpose of "Ignore". It is not what I expected it to mean.
