On top of breaking out with "brand new" projects, there is another more-realistic scenario that Mandar (Microsoft) has suggested - migrating a VSS repository into TFS. This is much more down to earth given there are still a shockingly high number of teams (small to large) who continue to use VSS as their version control platform.

It would be meaningful for us to thus learn how to convert existing VSS databases into full TFS glory and sweetness. No doubt an experience we can take and apply for environments we might get the chance to upgrade.

I personally do not have any. Does anybody have a useable VSS database (no sharing of your company's IP) with sizeable code and history? We would need to seek out one that can provide us with plenty of hurdles :-) to the migration process.
