Microsoft is industry's leading innovator?

Must say I am as surprised as the originating poster ;-) Sure, there is no doubt a tonne of research funds and effort has been devoted but most products are indeed more like tied to the past than the future. Safe for, .NET....

I'm surprised. I wonder what innovation they have considered in the survey (I didn't read the exact article yet)....

What I do know is that they are spending a lot of research on a multitude of stuff (and by that I mean not just on I.T. alone) and they are sparing no effort on getting patents.
