We just had our Community Technology Update (i.e. CTU) event on 3rd November and it was a roaring success, with almost 120 persons turning up on a Saturday to learn about Unified Communications as well as Vista. For those who’ve made it, a sincere thank you for taking time off your busy Saturday. If you have any feedback or suggestions, don’t hesitate to drop me an email (SUBJECT: CTU 2007 Feedback).

Coming up on 22nd Nov, we’re having a joint UG event with SGSQLUG (http://sgsql.sqlgroups.com/) and we’ll be having our local SQL Server expert Weehyong to share about Spatial Support in Sql Server 2008.

Our UG meeting will be held on 22 Novemeber 2007 at Level 22, Auditorium from 6.45pm – 8.30pm.

Spatial Support in Sql Server 2008
Tok Wee Hyong (MVP, SQL Server)

The growing ability of businesses and consumers to quickly absorb large volumes of data, together with the increased availability of digital maps and spatially-enabled applications has created an unprecedented opportunity to incorporate geographic factors into decision making processes and analysis. Be amongst the first developers and IT professionals in Singapore to see public demos of spatial support in SQL Server 2008!
