does anybody know why Chinese IMEs insist on setting a keyboard sequence for shortcut activiation? No matter what I do in the settings to disable them, they will stubbornly revert themselves. This messes up working with Visual Studio. Is there a way to shut them out for good?

Shortcut activation refers to? Switching input language?

They stubbornly hijack the Ctrl-space sequence. So when i hit Ctrl-space in Visual Studio, suddenly i am programming in chinese. There is no way to tell the IME not to intercept, it wants, so badly, to capture something despite explicitly setting it to disabled. All i can workaround now is assign some obscure keystroke.

Had the same problem, so either re-assign the keystroke or for me, I just call up my notepad for Chinese input, then cut and paste. Crude, I know, but somehow I still prefer the Ctrl + Space since those days I use Hansvision.
