Hi, currently my company is working to come out with a manual/booklet/policy to standardize the way our programmers write codes, things will be included will be like naming convention, standard practices, and etc. So, all our programmers will need to follow all this standard when they write codes.

Would like to know usually how you guys call this document?

Thanks a lot

Let me chip in more granularity to the terms.

Use "guidelines" if you want it to be just that, a guiding principle and recommendation.

Use "standard" if you want the conventions to be strictly adhered to by your team.

Notice Microsoft has some material and always calls them guidelines - they cannot enforce such rules on anybody.
