Hi,

Could anyone please advice or recommend any good asp.net & SQL 2005 hosting in Singapore?

By the way, can anyone also advice http://community.sgdotnet.org/forums ? Is it hosted in Singapore or outside of Singapore?

Appreciate your advices.

Thanks

SgDotNet is hosted as a dedicated server by 8 to Infinity. We are running under a sponsorship.

I seriously cannot tell much about local hosting providers as I have been using services from USA for years now. Top providers in the United States tend to keep abreast with the latest technology, even offering hosting for beta (Go-Live) versions of Microsoft's offerings.

My personal web site is operated by Server Intellect. However the best of the breed is Orcsweb; the company is run by a group of serious experts and not some MBA grad. Naturally, their expertise do not come cheap.... :-)

Thanks for information. I think Server Intellect is the best deal in terms of options and price. How is the customer service support of Server Intellect?

Thanks

They are pretty responsive; usually get my requests done in less than a day if not too complex and within a favourable timezone window.

Hi,

For 8 to Infinity, how do you upload your website and configure the IIS?

Some hosting companies I checked with said they will just provide a FTP and they'll do the rest for us - ie the website and IIS configuration will be setup by the hosting company. Then all we do is to use FTP to upload any updates or new files.

How does it work for 8 to Infinity? Because it seems when you signup, they gave you the option of buying a "Hosting Controller" which costs $50/mth. Which is for me quite a over budget.

Icelava: On the same note, how does it work for Server Intellect?

Thanks

Opps sorry. I just realise sgdotnet is on a dedicated server.

But can someone shed some light on my previous queries?

Thanks

I upload my site files using FTP; and SI provides the Helm control panel for convenient control over aspects of the web site.

Frankly any hosting provider should not charge you so much more to "add on" a hosting control panel. The cost of having administrators supporting your requests manually is way more expensive than the automated tasks that can be supported by these control panels.
