Outlook 2007: rules between two machines

I have two laptops each with Outlook 2007, both configured to connect to the company exchange server. One of them is my primary “comms centre” and is setup to rules to move emails – especially community lists – to folders in a PST data file. The other only uses cached OST mode.

I noticed if I first view community emails from the latter laptop, the primary laptop would not be able to apply its rules to move emails around anymore. Is there a good way to keep this working?
