Back from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
I'm back safely from KL, Malaysia, and I did have a really fun time, though I got sick immediately after I arrived back in Singapore.
Here's just a walkthrough of what I did there. :)
I arrived in KL on Saturday morning at 1am, and went to Melia Kuala Lumpur Hotel to stay. I was still rushing the demos for my presentation in MIND, and stayed up pretty late to complete them. I woke up early around 8am and continued trying to get the demos working and going through what I was going to say. Later, I had lunch at this noodle house nearby and had some dim sum (not that nice). Then it's off to KLCC where MIND meeting is held.
The meeting had quite alot of people, more than usual, I was told. I was hurrying my demo for one last time before it's dooms day for me. The presentation I did was "Introduction to ASP.NET 2.0" which covers all the new features of ASP.NET 2.0 and Visual Studio 2005 (specific/general for web development). It was supposed to be a 2 hr presentation/demo, but I was only given 1 hr, so I had to speed through everything quickly. Man! It was like running 2.4km standing! I kept panting, and catching my breath, but the audience was very responsive and when they saw the cool features, I saw a few faces that was intently in awe looking at the demo. I couldn't finish all the demos I intended to do, but I did show enough of the new features to get some claps and wows from the audience.
It was pretty much the best presentation I've ever given, and I feel quite satisfied with my performance.
Later on, I went out with Amy for dinner. She drove us to this place to eat the fatty crab. Mmmm!!! The crab was delicious and so soft. After that, we went to her house to use the internet. Yes, I couldn't take a day without being connected. Then Amy sent us back to the hotel.
On Sunday, we went to this place called Mid Valley to meet with Serena. Here's her blog post which talks more about it. I won't repeat what she said.
Trippie's.Farewell
As you can see, I'm not really a good blog writer talking about my life. For those who keeps complaining about how my blog has only technical stuff, I tried!!!
I'd like to thank Amy for being such a wonderful host, and Serena for coming to meet me (or rather me going to meet her) for the last time. Thank you so very much and I've really enjoyed myself.
Photos will be up soon!! Keep looking at this blog!
