How much time do you spend travelling each day? For me, its an average
of 3 hours. Within this 3 hours, I usually read newspaper , watch
msdn
videos/
bleach on my smartphone, or simply play
DoomRecently, I found a couple of software which allows me to play full length video on my smartphone.
Previously, I have to encode the videos in wmv format, which results in not very satisfying quality and not very satisfying file size (at least for me). Until I found
TCPMP (haha, sounds a bit like advertisement), which allows me to play Xvid and DivX encoded videos on my smartphone (running Windows mobile 2003).
The software I used to convert the video is
AutoGK, which allows me to select the output file format and it will do the rest for me. I admit that I am not a very video encoding savvy person, so its easy to use interface is pretty "idiot-proof" for me.
If you have a few videos if you have seen due to your busy schedule and have a smartphone or pocket pc, do give these 2 programs a try.
Hmm, not really, just that the address of this is a bit long and tinyurl is too 'tiny' so I redirect it from

Easier to give people too, haha
I will taking this 2 exam in Feburary and March. Both of them are in beta and allow me to upgrade to MCDP. Although there isnt much resources in which I can use as a study guide, I guess I can use this opportunity to get a good grasp of how the new exams will be like. Hope I don't score too badly..haha..anyone studying together tell me so we can study together
=x
Whenever I shop or eat at a particular shop or place, one major thing that decides whether I go back is the service. I have a rather funny stand which I always abid with. No matter how good the food or cheap the merchandise the shop sells, as long as it portray bad service, I will black list it, complain to a number of friends and make sure I will not go back to it again.
Today, I went to sim lim square to purchase a TV tuning card and perhaps because I am looky rather shabby, I was treated rather badly by some of the shop assistance. The first shop I went to, I saw Win TV card. Not sure wats the real different between the different brand, I ask the shop assistance whether there are any other alternate brands. He told me that is the only brand, even though there are plenty of other brands behind. Its almost like saying "I dun care" in my face. I decided that since he know nothing much about the product, i take a look at different shops. Several other shops yield pretty much the same result, so..the trips ends as most my sim lim square trip ends: I went to 5th floor, went into
Fuwell, and buy the card that the shop assistance introduce me to. I always prefer to buy at
Fuwell for several reasons:
1)Shop assistance "know their stuff"
2)Competitive price
3)Neat shelves. Walk in, and can easily locate what I want.
There is another shop at that level which is also very good is Laser Distributor, but I cant seem to find it today (has it moved to funan or is it I am blind, haha). The shop assistances there are also super friendly and helpful.
I think next time, I can just walk directly to the 5th floor if I need to get something. Save time too.
Some dll in which I use for my asp.net applications requires full trust in order for them to run when the web application are first started. This post no problem in .net 1.1 applications. However, in .net 2.0, we are required to put this in the web.config
<trust level="Full" originUrl="" />
Again, this requires little effort. However, they do post a problem when your website
is hosted under shared hosting environment
This morning, the host I using decided to increase its security by preventing Full trust.
As a result, the entire web application refuse to run (and result in my headache). The error Is:
Parser Error Message: This
configuration section cannot be used at this path. This happens when
the site administrator has locked access to this section using <location allowOverride="false">
from an inherited configuration
file.
An email to the support department reveals that they have indeed just added the tag to their machine.config, and they will try to resolve this issue for me. For my case, the dlls I use is essential for the web applications and must be used. Yet, they cannot be run without Full Trust. I am not sure how this issue can be resolve, since I do not think the Web Host is prepare to change their machine.config. For those who are developing .NET 2.0 applications and are using dll that requires full trust, perhaps they should take this into account.
Hmm, an article on straits times today mention that blog owners must pay $1000 license fee for posting less than 10 music on their website, and it claim it is a 'Reasonable Fee'. I wonder if anyone will actually pay (I rather remove the music)
[View Full Article here]Heres the extract
[
"We increasely see more bloggers who upload music onto their webpage",
"We want to encourage them to come forward to our one-stop centre to get licensed, for a resonable fee",
For websites where the song cannot be downloaded or have any advertising, owners have to pay $1000 a year for playing 10 songs or fewer, $5000 for playing 11 to 49 songs and $10000 for over 50 songs.

I cannot stop laughing over this:
Got a usb warmer from my friend today. Very useful!
You may ask why I need a usb warmer. First of all, i spend most of time
on in front of the computer. Secondly, most of the time I am in front
of the computer, I am coding. Thirdly, when I am coding, I drink
coffee. Fourthly, I dun like to drink cold coffee. So all this puts
together to explains y a usb warmer is very important to me. I am going
bring it together with my laptop, haha. Wonder if there is a usb coffee
maker. Alright, joking, haha
