December 2006 - Posts

DevCon is here.....Nope, it's over!

DevCon 2006 went "production" last Saturday (16 Dec 2006). The event was well received by students from all IHLs and around 200 students attended. Here's some photos. Kudos to all the speakers (Marcos Pinedo, Stanley Tan, William Tay, Alan Andrew, Dennis Chung, Maung Maung, Tian An, Darren Sim and Edwin Sarmiento). Also, special thanks for Cindy and her team of TP friends who've helped out in the event registration.

The event will not be possible w/o support from INETA, SCS as well as sponsorship from Microsoft, especially Lilian.

Slide decks will follow shortly.

I survived...

Yes, I managed to survive the 21km Standard Chartered Marathon 2006 run. As I've mentioned in an earlier post, I didn't train for the entire 21km route. Thus, I started my first 14km strong, clocking at around 1hr 15 mins, when my right knee injury got aggravated again.......I did the WALK-N-JOG for the next 5 km and by then, my left hamstring was also wasted (muscle ache). So, instead of finishing my last 2km in a last sprinting effort, I had to walk (yes walk) for 2km and see many other contestants mustering their remaining energy to complete the competition strongly.

Oh, if you're interested to see how I fared, check it out here.

Here's my timing:
