Database Developer Day - 26th July 2006

This is a joint event with the SGSQLUG group - so book early to reserve your seat.

This month our focus shifts to the SQL Server Developers !! What's available now (Data Dude) and a peek into the future ( LINQ). Hope you like the selection.

Topic 1: Introduction to LINQ
Speaker : Tok Wee Hyong
When developing data-rich applications, developers often need to overcome semantic differences between the query languages (e.g. SQL, XQuery) used to access data and the programming languages used for developing the applications. The  Language INtegrated Query (LINQ) project provides an exciting integrated programming experience for developers, by allowing developers to query object, relational and XML data directly from within C# and Visual Basic.
In this session, you will learn about the immense opportunities presented by LINQ (DLinq , XLinq) in developing next-generation data-rich applications. You will also learn about the set of extensions to the .NET Framework that encompass language-integrated query, set, and transform operations, and how you can make use of them in application development.
For more details go to http://msdn.microsoft.com/data/ref/linq

SGDN Services are UP!

After much firefighting and troubleshooting, we're finally done with the server migration. We're now running on Community Server 2.1 beta.

There are still small issues reported about the loss of images throughout the entire CS installation, which I'll work on it.

Thanks for being patient and welcome back to SGDN!
