About Me

Tiling Phase: Toilet overlaying almost completed...

I've actually went to my house on saturday... But I didn't bring my camera along, as I'm going to my neighbour's house to sand my ikea furniture... Didn't want my camera to be dirty... So this morning, I went up to take some pictures, especially the kitchen floor.

So here it is, the toilet tiles... Nice?

Then the kitchen tiles... They purposely any how put concrete to have an uneven surface so that the new tiles will stick...

When I was at my house on Thursday, to my horror, I've already noticed that the tiler did not remove the original tiles at the side of the curb before putting on the new ones. It is going to be ugly, as the tiles will not be inline with the skirting of the laminate flooring. On Monday, I remember the contractor saying that the old tiles cannot be removed. As my ID really goes by the book, and is very firm about it, I was really disappointed, and really don't know what to do...

On Saturday, I called my ID and asked him about it... He says, "Don't worry, got me around, I sure take care of it one. I've already told the contractor to redo that part. They will fix it on Monday". Sure enough, this morning, I noticed a black line is drawn on the tiles.

During lunch time, I went back to my house to take a look, to make sure that the contractor do not start tiling the kitchen first, as I want them to align the tiles with the living room. I saw my ID there as well, talking to the contractor. After discussing with me some issues about the tiles, we went up to my neighbour's house, which was also done by him. After telling him that the door cannot open up, because of the foyer tiles, he immediately called the contractor up. Later, he told was looking around and tell another contractor to touch up here, touch up there.

After seeing the way he handles my neighbour's house without us telling him about the defects first, I'm really happy I got him to do, even though he isn't the cheapest. I think I'm quite blessed by God. Haven't really had any trouble with ID, suppliers and such. Renovation experience was really enjoyable so far! Hope this last!
