Systems Capable of Infinite Growth

Repeated reading of "Architecture Astronauts" always remind me the truth and the lie about architecture, and the most important activity to remain sane (if sane enough to remember) in the software/solution/service/integration/information industry is not to be confused by the architecture.

Many and great systems start from humble attempt (unix, tcp/ip, gsm, linux (remember the vs minix debate?), web, google, rss, wiki) that could hardly tell "design system for infinite growth" is a foresight or hindsight.

One of my friend jf described his perception towards many application projects/systems delivered everywhere is that the core is not always working too elegantly..ohh...that's the truth. It's like a snowflake, at the center of a beautiful piece from the nature, it is a dust, tiny but remains a speck of dust. It is there that water vapor attaches itself to the dust particle and the process of transformation begins - in another context it is named software project. Let's name such "Snowflake Pattern" (coined term) for running software project - however it does work well, if not all times [and when you buy time to patch them nicely].

Neverthelessly, do not miss this recent (and hot) piece of YouTube that says something about our topic "Systems Capable of Infinite Growth" : Web 2.0 in just under 5 minutes
